More Baby...
Dylan with a full stomach after eating a little too much... On our way to our first Dr. appointment. The Dr. said Dylan looked great! He had gained 3 oz in two days!

The Newest Robinson
Just a few hours ago we officially filled out the birth certificate: "Dylan Ashworth Robinson." Apparently the hospital encourages you to have a name selected before you leave (not to mention your wife). Katie thought of "Dylan" and "Ashworth" is Katie's Grandma Ellen's maiden name (Erik's mom). Both Erik Sr. and Erik Jr. also share "Ashworth" as a middle name.
We got him home safe and sound after spending about twenty minutes figuring out how to work the car seat. The hardest thing about the trip though was carrying all the beautiful flowers that friends brought us.
Here are a few facts about Dylan's birthday:
It was the date of Paul Revere's ride--so it's an especially good day for a birthday in Boston.
It was also the date that Lt. Colonel Doolitle led an air-raid on Tokyo during WWII.
And last but not least it is Zimbabwe's independence day.
View from the hospital.
We will post some more pictures and videos later this week but we need more comments to keep us motivated!! Thanks to those of you who have been--keep them coming--and for those that have not, please do!!

Video From Day 2
If you can make it through the boring commentary of this video, you will see a cute little sneeze...
A little bout of the hiccups...

More From Day 1
Little Houdini trying to break out of his blankets. His favorite move is the frog kick.
Just taking everything in. Right now his eyes are a very dark blue. Almost grey.
Right now he is sitting on Dad's lap wondering where his Grandparents are.Favorite place to sleep--on Mom's shoulder.
More quality time with Mom.
Here is Dad learning the ropes. People seem to think he is a natural.
The Grandparents take a break from their mid-morning naps to stop by and visit the hospital.

Introducing . . . Peanut!!!

Arriving at about 6:30 this morning, he weighed in at just over 8 lbs 2 oz. Still no official name but we are getting very close--still some last minute negotiations (mostly between Jane and Robyn). Fortunately, after so much waiting the labor went really well and didn't take too much effort. All the grandparents were crowding around the door outside waiting to hear him arrive . . . that is until they got scolded by a stereotypically authoritarian nurse and had to march back to the 25 square-foot waiting room / closet. But before they were forced to leave they got to hear him cry. Since then he has been really good and hasn't cried at all except for a few seconds during his bath (which I don't think anyone really blames him for). After Katie and Peanut got cleaned up the grandparents were allowed to come in and check things out. Peanut was very healthy and alert, making sucking noises, and looking all around him--probably for a meal. He did really great with the grandparents and let everybody hold him. After awhile the grandparents left and we all had breakfast and then I took him over for a bath and checkup with the pediatrician. Katie is doing really well and is feeling better. Right now she and Peanut are both enjoying a well-earned nap.
Here are some videos for everybody to enjoy.

Admitted But No Peanut Yet . . .
We were admitted last night at about 6pm to the Bain Birthing Center in Mt. Auburn Hospital--the only place in America where a foreign king has been born. (His Majesty King Bhumipol Aduladej of Thailand was born on December 5, 1927 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts.)
They started the pre-induction process yesterday evening but got super busy today and so didn't start the actual induction until around 7:30 tonight. Katie just got her epidural at 10:00 and is feeling sweet! So now the clock is ticking and we hope to see Peanut sometime tomorrow.

Still Waiting!!!!
So here we are day FOUR overdue! We're still waiting for our little guy to arrive! I went to the Dr. this morning and there was no change so the Dr. scheduled to induce me Thursday morning... And that's ONLY if they have beds available. If all goes as scheduled I will go to the hospital Wednesday night and they will get me "ready" and then start inducing me the next morning. We'll let you know what happens...
