We had a great 4th of July here in Boston! We started the day with the reading of the Declaration of Independence from the State House in downtown Boston. To be honest, we didn't quite make it in time to the reading because the subway train we were on broke. :(

From the state house we then headed over to Faneuil Hall to hear the Mayor of Boston speak ('zzzz...) and to listen to some festive music.

After hanging out downtown for awhile and eating lunch we then headed home to a Shaler Lane BBQ.

You can't celebrate the 4th without a good fireworks show. Boston has the best show to offer except for the fact that it doesn't start until 10:30 p.m. and it was packed!

Dylan did not want to sit still as we waited for the show... But as soon as the first firework went off I've never seen him sit so still! ~ he got a little scared!

After the fireworks, the subway was so backed up that the boys convinced us girls that it would be faster to walk home. (side note: where we were it usually takes about 15 minutes or longer to get to with a car!!!) An hour and a half later and at 1:00 in the morning we finally made it home! The worst part was the next day at church some friends of ours that ended up taking the subway said it only took 15 mins for them to get home! Thanks boys!:) Needless to say it was a LONG but FUN day!
